Music for a Weill: an evening of songs by Kurt Weill
Towson University Center for the Arts Recital Hall

Members of the Towson University voice faculty as well as faculty from Oldenburg University perform songs by Kurt Weill. The evening will be devoted primarily to songs from Kurt Weill's American musicals including selections from Lady in the Dark, Lost in the Stars, One Touch of Venus, & Knickerbocker Holiday. The evening will also include songs from Happy End, Down in the Valley, and other of Weill's German and French cabaret songs.

quinTUs, the Voice Division faculty quintet presents Johannes Brahms' famous Liebeslieder Waltzes Op. 52 as well as a semi-staged version of Gallantry a one-act "soap" opera by Douglas Moore which follows the operating room dramas of the passionate Nurse Lola, the dashing Dr. Gregg and the befuddled patient, Donald. This witty opera even included commercial interruptions! Other selections on the concert include John Corgliano's Liebeslied and various opera ensembles.
